<p><b>LibraryThing</b> est une <a href="Application_web" title="Application web">application web</a> de <a href="Application_de_catalogage_social" title="Application de catalogage social">catalogage social</a> destinée à enregistrer et partager des bibliothèques personnelles et des listes de livres. Elle a été mise à la disposition du public le <time class="nowrap" datetime="2005-08-29" data-sort-value="2005-08-29">29 août 2005</time>.

</p><p>La librairie en ligne <a href="AbeBooks" title="AbeBooks">AbeBooks</a> a acheté 40 % du capital de LibraryThing en <time class="nowrap" datetime="2006-05" data-sort-value="2006-05">mai 2006</time>. En <time class="nowrap" datetime="2009-01" data-sort-value="2009-01">janvier 2009</time>, le Cambridge Information Group a acquis une part minoritaire de la société, et sa filiale Bowker est devenue le distributeur officiel des librairies<sup id="cite_ref-1" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-1"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>1<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup>.
